June is Pride month and OEC is celebrating by throwing a weekend party of art, dance, education and fun. ClayGround is joining in on the celebration with the following exciting events:
1. SPECIAL MUD & MERLOT CLASSES. Friday Nights in June starting on June 3rd, the 7:00pm Mud & Merlot class will be taught by our beloved Drag Queen – Tara Caughta. She’s one of our best instructors and is a blast to watch her teach you how to turn a lump of clay into a beautiful piece of pottery. It’s a safe space, come anyway you want but be prepared to get dirty. Sign up through scheduling the Mud & Merlot class on this website for Friday at 7:00pm.
2. MAKER’S WEEKEND. Saturday June 4th from 12:00pm-5:00pm and Sunday June 5th from 12:00pm-4:00pm, for only $25.00 you can choose one of the following crafts: (a) Mosaic a small rainbow; or (b) make a colorful, joyful piece of glass fusion; or (c) paint a pottery rainbow, heart or unicorn. No reservations are necessary- just drop in for a taste of colorful celebratory crafts.
3. ARTISTS FAIR. On Sunday June 5th there will be an Artists Fair in the parking lot behind the ClayGround and EC Pops, which will include the grand finale Tea Dance with DJDeezy benefitting Howard County Pride.
4. RED HIGH HEEL HUNT. We’re participating in a scavenger hunt running throughout Old Ellicott City that includes many shops and restaurants. Find a Red High Heel and you’ll be rewarded with some form of Pride inspired treat or treasure.
OEC will be brimming with fun and adventure that weekend, such as Drag Queen Story time, Drag Queen Wine Tastings, a Mascara Run, Drag Queen Sunday brunch at La Palapa Grill & Catina and the summer outdoor movie, “Bird Cage” at Wine Bin. And Lots More.
Come and join us as we celebrate the diversity and uniqueness in all of us.
Second Saturdays in Historic Ellicott City are full of art exhibits and demonstrations and special sales by our local businesses. Join ClayGround and its staff for art demonstrations and sales of one-of-a-kind art pieces.
